The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project, with its starting point at the Tilenga CPF in Uganda (interconnection point) and its endpoint at the port of Tanga in Tanzania, spans a total length of 1500 kilometers, making it the world's longest heated crude oil pipeline project. The project encompasses various facilities including the pipeline itself, pump stations, pressure reduction stations, valve chambers, and electric heat tracing stations.
The heat tracing system consists of heating cables, distribution boxes, intermediate connecting joints, and tail-end star connections. The project also includes the provision of a threading machine system for installation purposes and a cable break detection system for later operational maintenance.
